Greetings from Budapest!

I have received many mails concerning my posts, this is a sign that many are cautious about replying in public about such matters. I can totally understand that one may be worried, it shows a very worrying problem in our society.

Was our country not the country who promoted and protected freedom of speech? Normal citizens are now scared to write their opinions openly. How does this make you feel, what do you think may happen? Do you think this is a positive way forward and do you think it will stop here or will censorship get worse, will our leadership continue to use national security as an excuse to stamp out our basic rights?

I believe it will continue and I believe that it will get worse unless we try and change it, change will only be possible through the citizens who have had enough of this. Change will not come through the “actors” we have in Congress and the Senate. Traditionally both houses have great powers and are supposed to be there representing the people. These days there are very few congressmen or senators who do anything but provide lip service in order to get re-elected and then do as the “party” dictates instead of what the “people” want.

I read in a book a statement that rings so very true in my ears: “Most citizens know enough, not to want to know more”…sound familiar? I can only say that if we do not step up who will? What about our child’s generation, will they know what it is like to live in the great USA, it would be a shame if they would only read about it in history book..provided history is allowed to be read.

It is truly up to us as citizens to do all we can to protect our civil liberties and “god given right” to live as free human beings…what are you doing to ensure this for the next generation?

Wishing you all the Best,

Steven
